The second functional neuroimaging and neuroinformatics seminar which was sponsored by professional committee of Sectional Imaging Anatomy of Chinese Society for Anatomical Sciences and presented by Dalian Medical University held in the beautiful coastal city of Dalian in August 17 to 20, 2012. The meeting, which has the theme of "new theory and technology of brain functional imaging" with "cross, open, cooperation, share" for the purpose, discussed the latest research results of functional neuroimaging and neuroinformatics thoroughly. Professor Li Yunqing of the Fourth Military Medical University, who is the president of Chinese Society for Anatomical Sciences and Cheung Kong Scholar Chair Professor attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech. Speech delivered by Professor Liu Shuwei of Shandong university school of medicine, who is the executive director of Chinese Society for Anatomical Sciences and the chairman of professional committee of Sectional Imaging Anatomy. Opening ceremony hosted by Professor Zhang Shaoxiang, who is the vice president of Chinese Society for Anatomical Sciences, the winner of Outstanding Young Investigator Award and the vice President of Third military medical university.

The conference report included "new method of brain structural and functional imaging technique, neuroanatomy and neurophysiology ", "image processing techniques of brain structural and functional imaging and mathematical modeling of brain geometrical morphology", "research of functional imaging, imaging genetics, optogenetics and molecular imaging in brain functions and diseases", "research on structural and functional brain network and connectome ", "imaging studies of fetal and children’s brain development and brain aging ", "study of sectional imaging anatomy of nervous system, virtual surgery and functional neurosurgery", "imaging studies of Brain and Cognition , cultural, social and sexual brain", "nonlinear dynamic analysis of brain functional signal", "interaction study of evoked potentials and event-related potential with brain" and "database creation of brain morphology and function ", etc. More than 150 delegates engaged in anatomy, imaging, information science, physiology, psychology, neuroscience, pharmacology and molecular biology attended the meeting. They came from the domestic and foreign famous universities and research institutes, such as Riken Institute, Chinese University of Hong Kong, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Peking University, Beijing Normal University, Chinese PLA general hospital, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Sichuan university and shandong university.
